This is our final week of May camps.

Snow is melting fast and we will have limited areas of the mountain open this week. Our plan is to work on skills free skiing during the mornings, and enjoy the summer weather in the afternoons with Dryland activities.

Please do not bring your hood skis up this week, lots of rocks. I recommend something fatter for the heavy, deep stuff we will be skiing.

Thursday/ Friday 9:30 athlete load Base 2.
Saturday/ Sunday 9:00 athlete load Blackcomb Gondola.

Dryland:
Thursday 1:00pm Logger Lake Hike Cheakamus.
Friday 1:00 pm volleyball Nita Lake Park.
Saturday 1:00pm MTB ride Lost Lake
Sunday 1:00pm Disc Golf @Scandinave Spa.

Keep an eye on WhatsApp for updates.

Dave Murray and Jordan Schick Bursaries | Nominations by coaches only

All 2nd year U16 to U21 Athletes who are enrolling to 2021-2022 WMSC season are eligible to receive any of the WMSC Bursaries. These are financial awards which can be applied to further your participation in pre-season camps and races. Rob Boyd, Dave Murray and Jordan Schick set an example in the Ski Racing community and it is in this spirit that we are pleased to honor them with these bursaries.

The purpose of the WMSC bursaries is to support, promote, encourage and sponsor WMSC Teamship Values, sportmanship, leadership and passion for ski racing. These bursaries recognize U16 to U21 athletes who exemplify these qualities.

Dave Murray Bursary – Dave Murray is well known as one of the Crazy Canucks! He ski raced in the same hills as our athletes race today. He left us a legacy: The Dave Murray Bursary of $750 and plaque or trophy awarded to one racer, either gender.

Nominations will be made by coaches for 2nd year U16 athletes moving to U18, U18 or U21 racers with financial need, committed to the sport; that shows athletic ability and potential to rise in alpine ski racing.

Jordan Schick Bursary of $750 and plaque will be awarded to one racer, either gender

The family of Jordan Schick awards this bursary to a racer at WMSC in Jordan’s memory. Jordan lost his life in a car accident while he was a WMSC racer.

NorAm Finals Success | Thank you!

A massive shout out to all those that volunteered for FIS NorAm Finals and for making it a memorable event!

It was fantastic to see everyone out on hill and making the club cabin so alive. Volunteerism is at the core of all we do here at WMSC and this sport happens because of all of you. A special and huge thank you to Whistler Blackcomb, The Whistler Weasels, Abbie Milavski, and to all our WMSC current and alumni members who made this event a world class success.

WMSC Try out Day | Saturday, April 8

Meet at WMSC Club Cabin in Creekside at 9:00 am| It’s free!

For all strong skiers, born in 2012 and 2013 (10 and 11 years and old) from RDP and any program who are interested in taking their technical skiing to a new level and try out ski racing. The Ski up day is an opportunity to try and learn about the Whistler Mountain Ski club, training on the Dave Murray National Training Centre with our professional ski racing coaches.

This day gives potential Whistler Mountain Ski Club athletes a chance to try the club out for a day and get a feel for if they would like to join the program next year. It also gives the parents and opportunity to meet some of the staff and learn about the program.

WMSC Alumni Emeline Bennett. FIS Ski Cross Junior World Champion

Emeline won her quarterfinals and then battled to second in the semifinals before winning the finals to capture the gold medal in the Italian Dolomites. On the men side, WMSC alumni Nick Katrusiak (9th) and Jack Morrow also competed at the race. What an incredible result and we hope that she’s enjoying this well earned success.

Spring & Summer Ski & Dryland Camps 2023

The Whistler Mountain Ski Club is pleased to announce our Spring and Summer programming dates and plan. This year we have updated the calendar to offer a little bigger break from the end of the season to the start of May and then from the last May camp to the first June camp. Within the June block, we wanted to offer something a bit more unique and will be planning speed and speed element camps where athletes can work on specific components such as gliding, jumping, long turns, starts, terrain and aerodynamics to name a few. We also plan to try some more unique multi environment stations that is a little more free form then the traditional ski camp. Lastly, the third camp aims to capture all age groups when they are out of school, making it more accessible to all.
