U16 Weekly Update 07-11-2023

Last Week
Thank you to Zack, Katie, Vanessa and Jess who stepped up to help make last week’s adventure camp so much fun. Big Hikes, Big Rides, Pickleball, Ultimate, Disc Golf, Beach Volleyball, Arial Ropes, Rafting….What a week!

This Week
The WMSC Gym is open for workouts, and I have been seeing some of our recent graduates in there getting strong. Enjoy the weather, get on your bike, and get ready for Water Ramps next week!

Next Week
From Monday to Friday we will be hosting our first ever Water Ramp camp.
Learn to get comfortable in the air, body awareness. And impress your friends with some new skills next winter.
Schedule was just sent out over the WhatsApp groups. Bring bikes daily.

OTHER
Next week we will Host a Club-Wide summer BBQ for all members and Alumni. 5PM at The Cabin.

Last Week

  • Congratulations to all those who successfully completed fitness testing.
  • Snowy Hike for Health on Sunday.
  • Continued Strength training sessions for the Hawkey twins!

This Week

  • Strength Training Tuesday and Thursday at WMSC 4pm.
  • Strength Training Level 10 in North Van Wednesday 4pm.
  • Movement with Mike (Janyk) Fridays at 6:45am WMSC
  • Team MTB ride Saturday 9am Blackcomb Base.
  • Degular Dryland sessions end next week for the summer.

Coming Up

  • July Camps 1&2, registration is open, they are going to be EPIC!!!
  • Mount Hood Camp August 7-19, registration closes next week so please register if you plan to come.
  • Watch messages for random team activities over the Summer.

THIS PAST WEEK
We started our strength sessions at the club Gym at 4:00pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, these continue until July Camps start.

NEXT WEEK

  • Saturday Fitness testing (June 17) at the Racquet Club 8am.
  • Sunday June 18, Hike for Health fundraiser. WMSC has paid for all athletes to participate, we do encourage donations. 8:30am Blackcomb Gondola.
  • Tuesday and Thursday 4pm at Club Gym for Strength sessions.
  • Wednesday 4pm Level 10 North Vancouver Strength Sessions $15 per session.
  • Fridays 6:45am Movement and disassociation with Mike Janyk. THIS IS A GREAT SESSION!
  • Saturday June 24 Team MTB ride, meet Blackcomb base at 9:00am.

COMING SOON

  • July Camps, 1st and 3rd week in July, check out the schedule for our exciting itineraries!
  • Mount Hood Camp August 7-19. Registration link below, as well as camp Schedule.
  • There will be no regularly scheduled dryland during July and August, we will begin again in September. But stay tuned for random team activities throughout the summer.
