A Warm WMSC Welcome to Jeff Lackie

‍Dear WMSC Members –

It’s a real pleasure to share the news with you that Jeff Lackie will be joining WMSC as our new Executive Director as of July 20th.  Jeff has a world-class background in alpine racing having coached at all levels, including the Canadian National Team and the US National Team.  Jeff’s experience includes seven remarkable seasons as Mikaela Shiffrin’s head coach for speed and dryland. 

Jeff is returning to Canada from Aspen Valley Ski Club with his family and we’re very excited to have him join the Club!  He’s looking forward to getting started as quickly as possible.  Our full news release is here in the Pique.

Thanks to my colleagues on the ED Selection Committee for their many hours of meetings with some of the most impressive leaders in alpine skiing around the world in this process:  Amie Chu, Carmine Boskovich, Georgia Cuthbertson, Joey Gibbons and Rob Boyd, with some extra help on the side from Jason Shorter and Graham Ross.  And thanks to Sandy for all of his work for the Club.

On a different note, we’re thrilled to congratulate Hannah Jensen (2007) on her recent appointment to the Canadian Team.  It’s a landmark step and we’re so proud of what Hannah has achieved!  WMSC now has a full ten members on the National Team, more than any other club in Canada:
