Guest Athletes
Each Winter we welcome athletes from across the globe to join our team training while visiting Whistler. Our programs are open to Racers registered with their local Club from our U10 Program up to our FIS Program.
Every year racers from around the world join us while on their family vacations, before local race series, specifically for camps, events or just because they were in town. Our guest racers join us from Australia, Europe, Great Britain, the US and as close as the Vancouver ski clubs. If you are looking to maximise your training opportunities while on vacation, or specifically seeking training opportunities, please reach out.
Guest racers are required to have experience in training and racing in gates relative to their age and stage of development and be prepared to ski all terrain in all conditions. Whistler can receive large amounts of snow, varying from powder to heavy wet snow. In these conditions guest racers must have the appropriate skis and equipment for these conditions. A recommended minimum width of a powder ski would be 80mm.
In addition to having the appropriate skill level and equipment to train, a written recommendation from the guest racer's instructor, coach, club or sport organization is required. Ideally recent video footage should be provided to assist. This will assist in assigning the racer to the correct group.
The Whistler Mountain Ski Club reserves the right to offer training to athletes that can demonstrate the technical ability of the team they are seeking to train with. If the Lead Coach reviews the athletes’ information, experience and technical ability and deems that they would not currently fit into a WMSC group, we will discuss this with the athlete’s family should the situation arise.
