June 30th 2026 - FIS Update
Hello FIS Team,
School is out! June is almost over and July is around the corner. In an effort to keep in touch with athletes and families here is the latest FIS Team Update for 2026/27 season. We encourage all athletes to stay active over the summer months as just as quickly summer arrives it will be gone.
Whether your plans involve Chile, New Zealand, Europe, or training closer to home there are some hoops to jump through to make sure you are Registered, Insured and Licenced to Race in 26/27. WMSC Prices increase at the end of July so register ASAP if you haven’t already.
Registration & Communication
WMSC Registration for the 2026/27 season is open. Link to all the instructions on the website. Registration is the first step in staying connected to the WMSC FIS Program and allows us to build training groups, distribute summer programming, coordinate projects, and begin planning athlete pathways for the season ahead.
Step 1: Select the appropriate WMSC Membership
Step 2: Select the appropriate ACA/BCA License. One license per athlete.
Step 3: Select SAIP Insurance Level for FIS Athletes (Canadian Athletes only)
Step 4: Select the WMSC FIS Program option for your athlete.

*FIS Athlete Declaration is on the BCA site here. The FIS medical evaluation form is here.
Both must be completed and uploaded to BCA.
*Only Canadian Athletes Registered for WMSC Programs prior to July 19th will be eligible for BC All Area Pass application
Strength & Conditioning
Registration for a WMSC program opens the door to working with WMSC S&C staff and coaches as well as granting access to the WMSC dryland programing. WMSC coaching staff along with Ryan Oughtred will continue to deliver Strength & Conditioning programing through July and August. All athletes are encouraged to complete a periodized S&C training program over the summer.
Phase of two of the summer training program will be distributed directly to registered athletes in July.

Performance Prep Camp # 2
Originally intended to prepare athletes for Chile Training projects we will expand this to all WMSC FIS athletes regardless of participation in Chile. The second of two camps will take place in July in Whistler July 17–19
Three full days of activities designed to prepare athletes physically, mentally, and organizationally for the season ahead.
Camp components will include:
Strength & Conditioning sessions
Team building activities
Workshops on nutrition, hydration, recovery, sleep, equipment preparation, and sport-specific mental skills
Athlete-led discussions with current and former high-performance athletes regarding balancing school, travel, ski racing, and future pathways

Chile Update
El Colorado officially Opened for the 2026 season thanks to the efforts of their snowmaking crews, updated snow guns and natural snow that has arrived with the first storms of the winter season. Just 6 weeks to go until we head to Chile the excitement is building.
