NorAm Finals Success | Thank you!

A massive shout out to all those that volunteered for FIS NorAm Finals and for making it a memorable event!

It was fantastic to see everyone out on hill and making the club cabin so alive. Volunteerism is at the core of all we do here at WMSC and this sport happens because of all of you. A special and huge thank you to Whistler Blackcomb, The Whistler Weasels, Abbie Milavski, and to all our WMSC current and alumni members who made this event a world class success.

The Ski up day is an opportunity to try and learn about the Whistler Mountain Ski club, training on the Dave Murray National Training Centre with our professional ski racing coaches.

This day gives potential Whistler Mountain Ski Club athletes a chance to try the club out for a day and get a feel for if they would like to join the program next year. It also gives the parents and opportunity to meet some of the staff and learn about the program.

Spring & Summer Ski & Dryland Camps 2023

The Whistler Mountain Ski Club is pleased to announce our Spring and Summer programming dates and plan. This year we have updated the calendar to offer a little bigger break from the end of the season to the start of May and then from the last May camp to the first June camp. Within the June block, we wanted to offer something a bit more unique and will be planning speed and speed element camps where athletes can work on specific components such as gliding, jumping, long turns, starts, terrain and aerodynamics to name a few. We also plan to try some more unique multi environment stations that is a little more free form then the traditional ski camp. Lastly, the third camp aims to capture all age groups when they are out of school, making it more accessible to all. There are additional race series in April with the Alberta Cup at Nakiska April 13 to 16 and the BC Coaches Cup April 22 and 23 at Sunpeaks. WMSC FIS will attend these events. The Nakiska race series will include a small training block in Alberta as the time between Panorama and Nakiska is to short to make worth while to return to Whistler and drive back out to Alberta. Attending both race series will involve 19 days away from home. The expense of this trip needs to be justified by the goals, plans and current state of the athletes performance. If you have questions weather or not an athlete should do both Nakiska and Panorama please reach out to Richard. Please inform the coaching staff weather or not you intend to race at Nakiska so we can finalize the cost and the vehicles needed for the trip by Friday March 24th.

The Sunpeaks coaches Cup is a two day event and will only have one full day added to the race series for travel. SunPeaks will be closed to the public for this trip so this will not be a parent friendly trip as parents will be unable to ski at the resort.
