Dear Racers, Coaches, Volunteers and Friends of the O2E Brands Whistler Cup 2020

These certainly are unsettling times and we hope that all of you are staying healthy and active. There is no doubt we are anxious and excited for a safe and speedy return to snow!

Understandably, we were very disappointed that we could not welcome athletes, coaches, volunteers, and sponsors to the 2020 O2E Brands Whistler Cup. Knowing we did not get a chance to compete for the Cup this year, the race organizing committee wanted to extend the opportunity to celebrate the event with the purchase of a limited edition 2020 O2E Brands Whistler Cup Descente soft shell jacket. We felt this was a unique way to commemorate an interesting time in our lives, and the event that never was!

Orders open May 18 and close June 7th.

The price is $80.00 plus Taxes. Shipping available within Canada at $23. Orders to the USA or international, please email the office at whistlercup@wmsc.info; or you can pick up at the Club Cabin.

A message from Bob Armstrong

Hi,

​A short note to say that we are thinking about all of you and the racers/athletes in your family as well as the general wellbeing of our community. We certainly understand how difficult these last few weeks, months have been and like you, we are chomping at the bit to get back at it in a safe and measured way!

We are governed by the provincial government and its various phases of re-opening and its re-start plan. Rest assured that once the gate is deemed open, whether for on mountain events or spring/summer fitness, we will have programs ready to go for those that wish to participate. WB has been very good at providing us with status updates during this period.

​I have been actively getting up to speed on all relevant activities and functions of the club since starting on May 1st. Educating myself on the club, our incredible staff and what makes WMSC tick has been exciting to say the least! It continues to astound me on how consistent the club and its culture has been over the years when it comes to providing a platform for our phenomenal young people to grow and develop. In addition, we certainly must not forget the broader family of members, volunteers, alumni, and stakeholders that make WMSC a very special place.

Speaking of outstanding people, WMSC is so proud of our nationally recognized winners of the ACA annual awards. Our very own:

Conrad Pridy, Coach of the Year, Henry Voss, Helly Hansen Volunteer of the Year, Mollie Jepsen, Para-Alpine Female Skier of the Year, Cameron Alexander, Minogue Award of Excellence, and Marielle Thompson, Female Ski Cross Athlete of the Year. These individuals do an incredible job of representing our club and demonstrate our vision of “developing champions in life and sport” everyday; congratulations everyone!!

Hello Parents, Alumni and Athletes,

We hope your are doing well and keeping safe! We continue following the guidelines from the BC Health Authorities and the Federal Government with respect to COVID-19. As more information is released, we will keep you posted on how it will impact WMSC programming.

• Club Cabin (including Gym and Studio) remains closed until further notice
• If you need to contact us, please do so by email. Most of us are working from home.

Goggles for Docs Drive – Deadline Friday, May 8th

If you have any goggles that you would like to donate, please hurry up, there are only 2 days left.

Here is how to prepare the goggles for drop off:

1. Wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds
2. Use disinfecting wipes/spray to clean a work area
3. Use disinfecting wipes/spray to clean all parts of the goggles
4. Once goggles are dry, place each pair in a clean unused Ziploc bag and seal them.
5. Drop off into the collection box outside WMSC!
