Whistler Cup
The 2006, 2007 and the NEW 2008 Shaw Whistler Cup Shows are located at the bottom of the page.
Having completed its 15th year, the Whistler Cup (www.whistlercup.com) has grown to become the largest and most important ski race of its kind in North America for athletes aged 11 - 14 years. This past year's event saw over 400 young athletes from 21 countries participate in over three days of racing. With the 2010 Olympics fast approaching, the Whistler Cup is the must attend race for athletes and sponsors not only in the US and Canada, but around the world.
This year Team Canada won the Whistler Cup for the first time in 15 years. WMSC's own Kailee Darlington and Broderick Thompson took home the top Canadian Awards for K1, the Nancy Greene Award and the Dave Murray Awards respectively for top finis
hing K1 athletes.
The Whistler Cup is our Club's race. It is an opportunity for our own children to meet kids from other cultures and compete with the world's best. As a member of the WMSC, each K1 and K2 athlete has the opportunity to participate in the event. Other children in Canada need to qualify through a stringent quota system.
The 2008 edition of the Whistler Cup will be held at Whistler Mountain on April 4th through 6th, 2008.
The ski world is watching what we do with this race. Come out and volunteer!
