Past and Upcoming Races | Telus Winter Classic | Celebration of Life

First Club Race of the Season is Tomorrow!

We are excited to finally be hosting our first Club Race of the season tomorrow, Saturday January 25th. The race will take place on the Dave Murray National Training Centre and will consist of a Panelled Slalom and a Team Relay event with the results of the panelled slalom being used to create teams for the relay. See you there!

Recent Races at all Age Categories

Despite the challenging conditions that we have had for training and racing, other athletes and parents volunteers have been rising to the challenge and both home and away we have had some great series.
A huge thank you to the volunteers who made the U14 and U12 races at home possible, and very successful, despite the weather.

Read up on the event recaps about the races at every level in the past month, it’s been a busy January!

U12 NGSL and Janyk Cup – Jan 18-19-
U14 Teck Race in Whistler – Jan 11-12-
U16 and U18/21 Teck Race and BC Cup in Panorama Jan 7-13

The U14’s Race Again – Feb 8th and 9th

The U14’s will be racing again on our own Dave Murray National Training Centre. On February 8th and 9th, racers from around the Coast Zone will again head to Whistler for the first GS races of the season! And once again we are asking for all hands on deck to make this race as successful as the U14 slalom race in January! We need every available parent to help with this additional event on our calendar! You don’t have to be a U14 parent to lend a helping hand. As always there are on-hill and off-hill opportunities for everyone. This is a great race to gain some experience in new areas. Please email volunteers@wmsc.info to sign up!

TELUS Winter Classic – March 6th and 7th

We are very proud to have Whistler Blackcomb Foundation’s commitment as our Legacy Partner in the new Coaches’ Cabin Project along with their significant help with the evolutions that we have done in our fitness facilities.

The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation is dedicated to providing financial support to organizations benefitting the residents of the Sea to Sky Corridor in the areas of health, human services, education, recreation, arts and culture and the environment, with an emphasis on children, youth and family programs.

They are hosting their 27th annual TELUS Winter Classic with the grand finale gala theme “Imagine 2120” March 6 and 7th, 2020. This action-packed weekend features fun filled ski events, wine, beer and food galore, live and silent auctions and fabulous entertainment. This event is definitely one not to miss!

Dr. Bob Jamieson’s Celebration of Life

Dr. Bob Jamieson was a huge contributor to not only whistler skiing, but Canadian skiing. His passing is a very sad event that was sudden and unexpected – many are still coming to grips. Our thoughts and hearts go out to Norma, Blake and the rest of Dr. Bob’s family and friends. Dr. Bob suffered a stroke while in the car, ski boots on and heading out for a day of skiing. All Whistler Weasel Workers, family and friends are invited to join Dr. Bob’s Celebration of Life on Sunday, February 23rd.

When: Sunday, February 23rd at 2:00 pm
Where: Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, 3811 Point Grey Road, Vancouver
