Purpose of the Chile Project
The Chile project is designed to build a strong technical and physical foundation before the Canadian winter. Athletes should arrive prepared to train, recover, maintain their equipment and contribute positively to the team.
· Develop technical fundamentals in Slalom and Giant Slalom.
· Build high-quality training volume and time on task.
· Improve tactical awareness, independence and professional habits.
· Prepare athletes physically and mentally for the 2026/27 season.
· Create a memorable training experience in an international environment.
POWDER SKI ALERT
If the current storm cycle continues, athletes should consider bringing powder skis. Our priority remains race training, but a wider pair may be worth packing if baggage space allows.

Coaching Team
Training and lodging in the Andes place additional demands on hydration, sleep and recovery. Athletes should arrive healthy, well rested and ready to follow the team’s recovery plan.
· Begin the trip well hydrated and carry a refillable water bottle.
· Eat regular meals and recovery snacks; do not skip breakfast.
· Use sunscreen and lip protection every day.
· Prioritize sleep and follow team lights-out expectations.
· Bring noise canceling earphones if possible
· Tell a coach immediately if you feel unwell, unusually fatigued or unable to train safely.
Travel Guidance
· Carry irreplaceable items, medication and essential ski equipment in your carry-on whenever possible.
· Do not place medication, passports or valuables in checked baggage.
· Keep ski bags organized and within airline baggage limits.
· Label every bag with the athlete’s name, address and mobile number.
· Take a photo of your packed ski bag and luggage before checking it.
· Athletes are responsible for monitoring and maintaining their own equipment.
· Bindings can be removed to save weight and reinstalled in Chile

The group will travel with LATAM Airlines. The YVR to LAX leg is with LATAM partner WESTJET

Laundry
Laundry service is available through the hotel for an additional fee. Athletes should plan to do laundry approximately once each week. We recommend packing enough training clothing for 6–7 days between washes.
Athlete Expectations & Camp Information
Daily Athlete Expectations
· Be on time and fully prepared for every departure, meeting and training session.
· Bring required clothing, hydration and equipment to each session.
· Tune and maintain skis daily as directed by the coaching staff.
· Participate positively in video review, dryland and recovery activities.
· Support teammates and contribute to a respectful team environment.
· Represent WMSC professionally at the hotel, mountain and while travelling.
· Communicate injuries, illness, equipment problems or concerns promptly.

Emergency Contact – EAP
In the event of an Emergency WMSC staff will implement an Emergency Action Plan. Parents would be contacted and updated regularly by the coaching Staff.
El Colorado resort is equipped with onsite Medical Unit / health center. The medical team includes an onsite Medical Doctor(s) and Nurse(s) as well as paramedic(s) and access to ambulance or air ambulance helicopter if necessary.
